Fasting Whiteness for Lent?!?!
A church in Illinois is fasting Whiteness for lent.
Lent, the practice of giving something up to become more like Jesus.
Lent, the practice of following in Jesus footsteps as he walked through the desert without food or water for 40 days.
Lent, the remembrance of Jesus fasting for 40 days then being tempted by the Devil before beginning his ministry.
This church is fasting an immutable characteristic like skin color to become more like Jesus who, actually didn't appear to care what race people were as long as they loved and followed him.
I am not sure, but to me it seems this church is acting more like the devil than Jesus.
